Inspired initially by Montreal’s multi-cultural flavor and the city’s rich history, along with a disappointment in generic playhouses sold by the “big box” home improvement stores I borrowed architectural styles of the world as an inspiration for rethinking playhouses. The move to California provides an equally rich cultural fabric to apply the same ideas.
Children are transported by their play to new worlds. These playhouses provide a physical base for these excursions of the imagination and are a place where education and fantasy can co-exist.
